Guru Nanak Dev’s two Muslim friends wanted him to offer Namaaz with them in the Masjid.

Since Guru Saheb believed that the source is one , he readily agreed, but once inside the Mosque while his companionds went through the motion of doing the Namaaz , Baba sat at a side.
In a cynical , critical mode both these persons accused Nanak Dev of not being what he professes.

The guru replied that you wanted me to do Nammaz with you but one of you was thinking about the Horses that you would be selling at the Haat next week and the other one was thinking about his wife so who could he do the Namaaz with?
Lord Krishna explains in depth about the three types of Karma , the desire for the fruit and the three types of worship that devottes do.
Shri krishna has devoted almost all the chapters of Gita towards the sanctity of Bhakti and Karma and their intertwined importance.
The essence to my mind is to change the mind set and not pray under the fear psychosis or Vastu or Vishay Waasna

thanks for sharing the anecdote sir.I am trying to put the book ” eeshwar darshan ” by Swami Akhandanand Saraswati on the blog so his words can reach out to more people.Seldom do we find a teacher who’s commentary is nothing short of direct experience.
